Rocking Bear Trail Run Myoko 2025

another wet one, but it certainly didn’t deter us from taking part in our local Rocking Bear Trail run! We decided to enter the 17km “middle class” event. While the 48km trail looked tempting for a split second, we wisely concluded it was probably best left for the younger (and perhaps slightly crazier!) folk.

Nevertheless, the 17km course was definitely demanding enough! There was a particularly memorable section climbing up alongside a waterfall – it was incredibly steep and very slippery with all the rain, making for some careful footing. But, wow, was it rewarding when we finally made it to the top! The views and the sense of accomplishment were fantastic.

The trail run starts at the local Alpen Blick ski area, which was a huge bonus. It meant that once we crossed the finish line, we were just a glorious 5 minutes away from our lodge and the promise of a very, very welcome hot bath.

All in all, despite the mud and the challenging climb, it was a grand day indeed. Just the kind of invigorating experience we enjoy!
